Filipino Night at the Norwegian Club "Mabuhay!" – A Night of Islands, Flavors, and Fiesta
Get ready for one of the most spirited evenings of the year as we celebrate the vibrant heart of the Philippines! Expect an evening full of bold flavors, warm hospitality, and joyful music—from traditional serenades to the rhythmic beat of island drums.
We’re thrilled to feature a special presentation with a Philippines connection by Elliott Jessup, a Fellow of The Explorers Club and a member of the Norwegian Club. Elliott is the former head of the Scientific Dive Program at the California Academy of Sciences, where he led pioneering efforts in training, safety, and deep-sea technology. His work has taken him on multiple expeditions to the Philippines, where he helped explore the ocean’s mysterious “twilight zone” — mesophotic coral reefs located 150 to 500 feet below the surface. These expeditions supported groundbreaking research on deep coral ecosystems and involved the development of advanced dive equipment and safety systems that made it possible to study these rarely seen environments. Elliott’s contributions have expanded our understanding of some of the most biodiverse and least explored regions of the ocean.

Note 1: To sign up for both the vegetarian and meat options, the Member must register twice: once for the vegetarian option and once for the meat option.
Note 2: When adding Guest meals, the Guest meal will match the Member's selection. To register for different options for Guests, the Member must sign up two times: once for each desired option.
Note 3: Meal choices are final. Changes cannot be accommodated after registration.
