Olaf Engvik is nothing short of a legend in the Norwegian-California community. A renowned maritime historian, he has authored several books on Norwegian shipping along the West Coast, the Norwegian Fish Club in San Francisco, and other fascinating topics. This Thursday, he returns to the club to revisit his 2018 book, The Ships That Built the West. It's a must-attend event for history enthusiasts—especially timely as 2025 marks the 200th anniversary of Norwegian emigration to America.
